Everton are reportedly keen on Carvalho, but Tottenham Hotspur’s refusal to budge on their £30m valuation of Dembele could affect the Toffees’ plans.

According to a report from Italian publication Calcio Mercato, Inter Milan are lining up a move for William Carvalho as a cheaper alternative to Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele, and that could spell bad news for Everton.

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Spurs are refusing to budge on their £30 million valuation of Dembele, and Inter are unwilling to meet that fee.

The Serie A giants have now switched their attention to Carvalho, according to Calcio Mercato, with the Portugal international being available on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Sporting Lisbon.

That could be bad news for Everton, however, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that the 26-year-old midfielder is one of Marco Silva’s key transfer targets this summer.

If Inter are indeed in for Carvalho, though, it will be extremely hard for Everton to beat the Italian giants to his signature.

Tottenham could, of course, make the Toffees’ task easier by lowering their demands for Dembele, making the Belgian’s switch to the San Siro all the more viable.

Knowing Daniel Levy, though, that is unlikely to happen, and Everton could end up missing out on one of their key targets as a consequence.
