Daniel Levy might be disappointed by Victor Wanyama’s reported price-tag for Tottenham Hotspur now, 15 months after it was £50 million.

It looks like Victor Wanyama might be leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

The Kenya midfielder seems to have very little future in North London under Mauricio Pochettino, who spent £63 million on Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

Wanyama has been pushed down the pecking order in a big way, with Moussa Sissoko also staging a huge turnaround in his Tottenham career, and The Daily Express claims that he could be joining Club Brugge.

If that transfer goes through, it’ll be for around £18 million and although it’s a tidy profit on the Lilywhites’ original £11 million investment, it’s much less than what chairman Daniel Levy wanted a little over a year ago.

In April 2018, The Mail claimed that Levy valued the former Southampton star at £50 million, but recurring injuries and Sissoko’s emergence has seen his importance and value plummet.

Tottenham fans will fondly remember Wanyama’s stunning first season at the club in 2016-17, but he hasn’t looked the same player since then.

They’ll still make a profit, but Levy and supporters might wonder what could’ve been.
