Ivan Perisic is already facing an uncertain future at Tottenham Hotspur with repots in Italy suggesting that the Premier League veteran could return to Serie A giants Inter Milan this summer.

Given that the Croatia international was seen at Spurs as very much ‘Antonio Conte’s man’ – brought to North London after winning the Scudetto alongside the Italian at San Siro in 2021 – it is perhaps no real surprise to learn that Ivan Perisic could reportedly follow his former boss out the door.

According to Tuttosport, Inter are open to offering the Tottenham Hotspur ace a second stint at San Siro.

Arguably the Nerazzuri’s star man during their title-winning campaign two years ago; the now-34-year-old winger has been lined up as a potential replacement for the seldom-seen Robin Gosens at the Champions League finalists.

Perisic, however, will have to take a cut on his current £180,000-a-week wages if he is to re-join a club who will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in Istanbul on June 10thInter’s financial issues, at this stage, are very well documented.

Will Ivan Perisic return to Inter Milan from Tottenham?

Inter are also considering Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi, Spezia’s Emil Holm and Salernitana’s Pasquale Mazzocchi. Three younger, more affordable alternatives.

Perisic, meanwhile, has just one year left on his Tottenham contract. The former Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund speedster contributed an impressive 12 assists to the Spurs cause this season, but lost his place in the starting XI following Conte’s dismissal. The veteran played only six minutes of football in Tottenham’s final four games of a miserable Premier League campaign under Ryan Mason.

The London giants already have Perisic’s replacement waiting in the wings, too. Destiny Udogie is on his way to the English capital this summer; Spurs stumping up £17 million before sending him back to Udinese on loan last year.

“He is a Tottenham player,” Udogie’s agent tells Tuttomercatoweb.

“The Tottenham project does not change. Udogie was bought with everyone’s approval. Many other professionals have called him important for the club.”

“I am ruling (another loan) out now. The boy is doing great.”
