Tottenham Hotspur youngster George Marsh praised the influence of the senior players on the youth setup.
Spurs’ under-18 captain George Marsh has shared which players he looks up to during training sessions with the senior side, as quoted by the Hertfordshire Mercury.
Marsh, who only turned 18 last month, plays in the deep-lying midfield role, and his impressive performances for the academy side this season have drawn comparisons with Tottenham star Dele Alli.
The teenager spoke to the Hertfordshire Mercury about how he and his teammates can learn so much from the senior players, and singled out two stars in particular whom he has learnt the most from:
Tottenham’s Eric Dier
“It’s a great opportunity to watch how players like Eric operate. It’s the same with Victor Wanyama – you just watch how they read the game, try to put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself what you’d do in each situation, so you learn from it every time you get the chance to train with the senior boys.”
Dier, 22, has been a revelation for Spurs, since his £4 million move from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, with his versatility proving to be vitally important to Mauricio Pochettino’s ability to cope with injuries.

Wanyama was brought into the club this summer from Southampton, and has provided Tottenham with an added level of tenacity and bite in their midfield.
If they are to mount a sustained challenge, both domestically and on the continent over the next few seasons, Dier and Wanyama will be two of the most important pieces of the jigsaw in Spurs’ quest for glory.
