Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are allegedly interested in signing the France international.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will surely be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks this month, with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura out injured, and Heung-Min Son away on international duty for at least another two weeks.
According to Italian publication Calcio Mercato, Spurs have joined Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race to sign Nabil Fekir, and should the north London outfit win the race for the Frenchman’s signature, they would be striking a real hammer blow to Jürgen Klopp.
The 25-year-old was so close to joining the Reds in the summer, before his proposed move to Anfield collapsed at the 11th hour, and it now seems as if Tottenham want the attacking midfielder, if Calcio Mercato are to be believed.
Fekir has been in fine form for Lyon this season, chalking up seven goals and four assists from 18 appearances in all competitions.
He was even better last term, notching up an incredible 23 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.
The France international would be a sensational signing for Spurs, and would help lift some of the burden off the shoulders of Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
According to the Mirror, Fekir is valued at around £50 million by Lyon, so should Pochettino want to bring him to Tottenham, he would have to spend the entirety of his reported January budget (The Telegraph).
The 25-year-old truly is a world-class player, and with Spurs’ current problems in attack, he really would be an exceptional addition to Pochettino’s side this month.
And beating Liverpool to his signature in the process would be an added bonus for the Lilywhites.
