Tottenham Hotspur should challenge Manchester United for the Croatia international.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at Tottenham this summer, in an effort to provide his side with that extra cutting edge, as they look to win their first major trophy since their League Cup triumph in 2008.

Spurs have been credited with an interest in Croatia star Ante Rebic, according to German publication Sport Bild, and whilst the Eintacht Frankfurt ace would be a welcome addition to Pochettino’s squad, the Argentine might just be better served in making a move for his international teammate Ivan Perisic instead.

The 29-year-old is a long-term transfer target for Manchester United, according to Sky Sports, but Tottenham should challenge the Red Devils for his signature this summer.

Inter value the hard-working winger at £48 million, according to Sky Sports – just four million more than Rebic’s value, and considering the fact that Perisic has played at the highest level for considerably longer than his countryman, Spurs should not hesitate to bring him to White Hart Lane.

The Inter Milan winger is incredibly gifted from a technical perspective, but he also plays with 100 per cent commitment every time he takes to the field of play.

Perisic is most comfortable when operating in the left wing role, although he can play anywhere along the front-line, and he would provide excellent competition for the likes of Heung-Min Son, Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen at Tottenham.

Spurs seem to be on the cusp of achieving something very special under Pochettino, and the addition of someone with the 29-year-old winger’s quality could be just what they need to make the jump up to that elusive next level.
