Tottenham Hotspur are linked with a deal for Burnley’s Andre Gray.

Andre Gray has emerged as one of the more intriguing transfer options available to Tottenham Hotspur, with The Express reporting he is a priority.

Gray, 25, netted twice at the weekend for Burnley, making it eight Premier League goals this season in 21 appearances.

The chance to move to a team battling for the Premier League title would be a move Gray would find it tough to turn down.

If they could land him, Gray could be Tottenham’s very own Jamie Vardy, an ideal complement for the prolific Harry Kane.

Gray, like Vardy, has worked his way up to England’s top flight from non-league football.

His previous clubs include Hinckley United, and Luton Town while they were in the Conference.

He eventually helped Luton win promotion and earned a move to Brentford, before Burnley signed him in 2015.

Gray also shares similarities to Vardy in that he has had to deal with off field troubles early in his career, and a renewed focus has seen him begin to realise his potential.

Unlike Vardy, Gray is yet to peak, and Tottenham would be buying him at just the right time if they can agree a fee with Burnley this summer.

Gray has the pace and work rate to trouble defences like Vardy does for Leicester, and could flourish with the service of Christian Eriksen and co.

If it ends with a Premier League winner’s medal and a Hollywood movie being made about him like the Leicester talisman, Tottenham won’t be complaining.
