The Tottenham Hotspur target is said to be rated at £40million by Crystal Palace.

According to a recent report from the Telegraph, Crystal Palace have valued winger Wilfried Zaha as £40million in a bid to scare off potential suitors, and for that kind of money, Tottenham Hotspur should steer well clear.
Spurs reported made a £12million bid for Zaha last August and are said to be planning a fresh offer in the close season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side could do with more quality in wide areas but there is no way Zaha is worth £40million and Tottenham would be wise looking elsewhere.
The former Manchester United winger has rediscovered his verve since returning to Selhurst Park, but his return of six goals and 11 assists in 32 appearances this season does not justify the price reportedly placed on him.
The transfer market may be inflated, but Tottenham can get a far better option for that kind of fee and in truth their chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to dig so deep having been burned in the past – most notably with Moussa Sissoko, Roberto Soldado and, to a lesser extent, Erik Lamela.

There are plenty of exciting wide options out there and Tottenham need only look at Borussia Dortmund’s recent business to see that splashing huge sums is not always the best option.
Only time will tell how Tottenham approach the upcoming transfer window, but do not expect Levy to be writing a huge cheque for Zaha between now and September.
