Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Said Benrahma.

After two transfer windows without any new signings, Tottenham Hotspur are finally expected to dip back into the market this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has battled on well despite being unable to bring in any new recruits, but his squad needs freshening up at the end of the season.

Another creative option is seemingly wanted in the final third, and new reports from TEAMtalk suggest that Spurs are interested in Brentford’s Said Benrahma.

The Algerian has impressed in the Championship this season, but with a £30million asking price believed to be on his head, Spurs would be absolutely mad to follow through with that kind of move.

Tottenham are already right up against it in terms of non-homegrown players, and whilst Michel Vorm will be leaving this summer, they need to focus on homegrown talent.

Any non-homegrown player signed this summer simply has to be of an elite quality, and as impressive as Benrahma is, he simply doesn’t fit that bill.

If Spurs are going to drop considerable money on a top Championship creator or goalscorer, then Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has to be a top target.

Grealish has quality on the ball both in terms of dribbling through deep blocks and unlocking teams, has proven himself in English football over a greater period of time than Benrahma, and counts towards that all-important homegrown quota.

Even Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, a goal machine this season, would be a smarter purchase than Benrahma, who simply doesn’t fit for Spurs right now.
