In today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market, that figure would represent superb value for the Old Lady…but terrible business for Tottenham.
Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12.5 million, and he has gone on to be nothing short of sensational ever since.
The 25-year-old has chalked up 49 goals and 64 assists in 207 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, and has played a major contributing role in his side’s recent success.
Replacing someone of the Dane’s ilk would cost an astronomical amount of money in this current market, and the north London outfit should do everything within their power to keep hold of one of their key men, if they want to make real progress, and be a major force within the game.
