Looking at the home table, however, Spurs are a lowly 7th – 13 points behind Manchester United and 12 behind Chelsea. It’s an interesting state of affairs considering some of Tottenham’s best wins have come at White Hart Lane: 5-3 over Chelsea, 2-1 over Arsenal.

What does need to be factored in is Mauricio Pochettino’s poor start at the Lane – when he was far more successful on the road. But there may be an argument to suggest Spurs are better suited to playing away.

They have accumulated a very similar amount of points both home and away but, relatively speaking, Tottenham compare much more favourably on their travels.
