Tottenham Hotspur have impressed on the road this season.

Tottenham’s frustrating quest for Champions League football has taken another knock this term.

But an in-depth look at their Premier League campaign reveals an intriguing top-four fact.

As the figures show, only Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have amassed more points away from home than Tottenham this season – and two of them having played a game more. That perhaps evens out the fact that Liverpool are two points behind having played a game less…

Looking at the home table, however, Spurs are a lowly 7th – 13 points behind Manchester United and 12 behind Chelsea. It’s an interesting state of affairs considering some of Tottenham’s best wins have come at White Hart Lane: 5-3 over Chelsea, 2-1 over Arsenal.

What does need to be factored in is Mauricio Pochettino’s poor start at the Lane – when he was far more successful on the road. But there may be an argument to suggest Spurs are better suited to playing away.

They have accumulated a very similar amount of points both home and away but, relatively speaking, Tottenham compare much more favourably on their travels.
