Reports emanated from Italy yesterday suggesting that Spurs face a battle with Napoli this summer for the signature of Villarreal winger Samu Castillejo, according to Italian media outlet CalcioMercato.
The 22-year-old moved to the Yellow Submarines from Malaga in the summer of 2015.
He has, however, proved to be a divisive character during his time with the club.
He possess electric pace, and has a direct style of play that would seemingly suit the hustle and bustle nature of the Premier League.
For all of the natural, raw attributes the young Spaniard possesses, he does have one main weakness.
For someone who plays in an attacking role, his productivity is extremely poor, and something that he will undoubtedly have to improve upon, if he is to go on to be a success in the game.
In 36 outings in all competitions for Villarreal this term, he has contributed with just three goals and four assists.
In fact, in 80 appearances since his move to the Estadio de la Ceramica, he has scored just five times, and chipped in with only six assists.

And Tottenham should be extremely wary of making a move for a player so young, who has no experience of English football, and boasts stats which are underwhelming to say the least.
Whilst Mauricio Pochettino has become renowned for signing talented youngsters before turning them into world stars, he has also made some very questionable acquisitions throughout the years.
For every Dele Alli, there has been a Vincent Janssen.
For every Eric Dier, there has been a Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
And Castillejo could very well be the next N’Koudou, should the Argentine bring him to north London.
The Lilywhites should learn from past mistakes, and target established stars this summer, if they truly want to challenge for major honours next season.
