Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Rodel Richards has moved to Ukraine with Vorskla Poltava two years after leaving the Premier League giants, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter page.
There has been much discussion about the rapid-fire progress of one ex-Spurs starlet in recent weeks.
Marcus Edwards certainly had a point to prove against his old employers in the Champions League. And prove it he most certainly did; the Enfield-born forward shining in Sporting Lisbon’s 2-0 group-stage win over Antonio Conte’s side while reminding everyone of those Lionel Messi comparisons with a dizzying solo run in the second half.
Rodel Richards, however, has a long way to go if he wants to join Edwards on Europe’s biggest stage.

Where is Rodel Richards now two years after Tottenham Hotspur exit?
The 22-year-old Londoner was released by Spurs in the summer of 2021 upon the expiry of his contract. And, after a brief spell with FK Hebar in Bulgaria, Richards has now put pen to paper with a Vorksla side sitting 12th in the Ukrainian Premier League.
The forward had his Hebar contract terminated in September. He joins Vorskla after a brief and obviously successful trial at the 2009 Ukrainian Cup winners.
Once a prolific goalscorer in Tottenham’s U18s, Richards found the net 16 times in just 30 games at that level. He also netted four goals in 10 UEFA Youth League games, while hitting two hat-tricks in the space of just 10 days while rising through the ranks in North London.
Spells out through injury impeded his development, however. Richards never really came close to a first-team debut at Tottenham before departing two years ago.
“We welcome the former Spurs player Rodel Richards to the team,” Vorksla write on their Twitter page, while confirming the length of his contract at the Oleksiy Butovsky Vorskla Stadium.
“He will be with us for the next three years. Rodel Richards hopes to adapt quickly and drive us to new victories!”
