Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore may be rising amid claims he may be given the green light to leave.

That’s according to the Daily Star, who claim that Wolves may give Traore the green light to leave Wolves in the next 24 hours.

Wolves weren’t desperate to sell Traore, but have just made a move for a new winger of their own.

Estoril wide man Chiquinho has joined Wolves in a permanent deal, immediately raising questions over Traore’s future.

Bruno Lage now has Daniel Podence, Francisco Trincao, Hwang Hee-chan and the returning Pedro Neto out wide, with Chiquinho adding another option.

Landing Chiquinho may just mean Wolves are now willing to do a deal with Traore and Tottenham.

Tottenham have been chasing Traore all month and have been seeking a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.

Wolves are completely against that idea and want to sell now, with a fee in the region of £25million allegedly wanted.

Tottenham have seemingly been waiting for Traore to be available, and that could now happen after the bargain Chiquinho deal.

Traore scored his first goal of the season on Saturday, coming off the bench to race clear and score against Southampton.

That was a great moment for Traore, who was later called ‘unplayable’ by teammate Conor Coady, but it may simply serve as a great end to his time at Molineux.

Out of contract in 2023, Traore’s value will naturally diminish the closer he gets to becoming a free agent.

Tottenham are hoping to take advantage with a cheeky loan-to-buy deal, giving Antonio Conte exactly what he wants at Spurs.

Emerson Royal hasn’t really impressed so far, meaning Conte wants a more dangerous option going forward.

Conte’s top choice is Traore, who he wanted to sign for Chelsea from Middlesbrough back in 2017.

A winger by trade, Traore would switch to playing as a wing back at Tottenham in what would be a gamble considering his lack of defensive qualities.

Exciting going forward and unstoppable in full flight, Traore could bring excitement to the Tottenham side – and a deal may be allowed this week if reports are to be believed.
