Tottenham Hotspur youngster is making strides in Holland, but it guarantees little.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards is enjoying a strong start to 2019 in the Eredivisie.
His form on loan at Excelsior have caught the eye, and there is hope that the talented teenager could yet fulfil his potential.
Edwards, 20, has two goals and two assists in 15 games this campaign.
Unfortunately for the youngster, loan spells in the Eredivisie are no guarantor of success.
Chelsea have sent numerous young players out on loan to Holland in recent seasons, who have done better than Edwards has done so far.
Lewis Baker scored 15 goals for Vitesse from midfield in 2016/17.

Back in England, he has flopped on loan at Middlesbrough, Leeds, and is currently struggling for Reading.
Dominic Solanke scored seven times for Vitesse, and has only one goal in English football in three seasons since, despite Liverpool and Bournemouth signing him.
Mason Mount offers a little more hope. He netted 14 times in Holland last season. He has six goals for Derby this season.
Edwards’ performances are a step in the right direction after a disappointing couple of seasons at Spurs.
But if he thinks it will be enough to get back into the Tottenham first team set up, he could be sadly mistaken.
