Tottenham Hotspur want Weston McKennie and he could now be sacrificed in order for Juventus to sign Rodrigo De Paul.

Tottenham wanted to bolster their midfield over the summer and ended up signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Malian international has yet to really nail down a starting role at Tottenham and is battling with Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle.

Spurs may still look to bolster that area of the pitch moving forward and one name keeps coming up again and again.

Tottenham Hotspur want Weston McKennie

Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie seems to be linked with Tottenham every other week at this point.

The American was signed by Fabio Paratici at Juventus and the Tottenham director of football appears to be a big fan.

Back in July, The Daily Mail reported that Tottenham were interested in McKennie but an injury to Paul Pogba ruled out a move.

Alasdair Gold – one of the most reliable Tottenham sources out there – has even added that Paratici had McKennie above Bentancur on his January wish list.

Tottenham will surely be tracking McKennie’s situation with intent and another rumour has now emerged.

Il Bianconero in Italy report that Juventus could sacrifice McKennie in order to bring in Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.

That’s somewhat ironic; Tuttomercatoweb reported over the summer that De Paul rejected an offer from Tottenham in order to stay with Atletico.

Now seemingly heading for the exit, De Paul is wanted by Juventus having previously excelled in Italy with Udinese.

Yet in order to bring in De Paul, Juve may need to offload a midfielder and it’s stated that Tottenham are ‘strong’ in their pursuit of the American.

That could be ideal for all parties, allowing Paratici to finally bring McKennie to Tottenham whilst Juve can bring in the cash to sort their own midfield out.

McKennie may be looking to impress at the World Cup in Qatar and secure himself a January move as a result, with Spurs seeming like a potential destination.
