Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are wiling to pay Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford £200,000-a-week in salary, according to The Sun.

The report in the British tabloid published this morning has claimed that Tottenham and Manchester United want to sign Pickford from Premier League rivals Everton.

The England international goalkeeper has told the Toffees that he wants to stay, but the two parties cannot agree on the terms of a new deal.

Pickford gets £100,000 per week at Everton, who are ‘only willing to offer him a few thousand a week more than he’s currently earning’, according to the report.

The report has added both United and Spurs are willing to pay the former Sunderland goalkeeper £200,000 per week.

Could Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United sign Jordan Pickford from Everton?

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United could be able to sign Jordan Pickford from Everton in the summer of 2023.

Yes, the 28-year-old wants to stay at Everton, but salary and ambition do play a big role in any player’s final decision over his future.

What if Everton are not willing to give Pickford – described as “incredible” and “fantastic” by Spurs and England international central defender Eric Dier in The London Evening Standard in July 2018 – a considerable pay-rise and they get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season?

What if Tottenham and United then come calling?

We think that Spurs or United do have a very good chance of signing Pickford in the summer of 2023?
