Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s list with Antonio Conte’s time at Spurs boss in doubt – and Michael Owen once claimed that Rodgers will see himself as a future Spurs manager.
Conte finds his position as Tottenham manager under threat. He is out of contract in the summer, and watched his side knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League in the space of a week. Spurs remain in the hunt for fourth.
But with the negative feeling around the club, Spurs could sack Conte with fans furious. Plenty have been linked as a replacement. The likes of Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Frank, Marco Silva and others are options.
TalkSPORT say Leicester boss Rodgers has admirers at Tottenham board level. Indeed, the ex-Liverpool manager has been linked with Spurs in the past – replacing Pochettino, and then Jose Mourinho. Owen’s claim is interesting.
He said this season, that Rodgers sees himself at a bigger club than Leicester, like a Tottenham: “I don’t think he saw himself down the bottom end. I think he sees himself as Arsenal, Liverpool or a Tottenham manager.”

Rodgers on Tottenham list: Owen said he sees himself as Spurs manager
Should Tottenham move for Rodgers? Of all the managers Spurs have been linked with that are in work, you would suggest Rodgers would be tempted by Spurs. Leicester sit in 15th, and Rodgers would surely jump at the chance.
Those in work – Roberto De Zerbi, Frank, Silva – they would prefer to stay where they are at Brighton, Brentford and Fulham. But Rodgers is incredibly experienced in the Premier League. Recent struggles are due to a lack of cash.
So, if Tottenham do feel a move is necessary right now – failure to beat Forest might do that – then a move to bring in Rodgers would likely be successful. But out-of-work managers might prove more tempting for Daniel Levy.
