Tottenham Hotspur are considering striking targets and are now eyeing up a move for Lille forward Jonathan David.
Lille striker Jonathan David is emerging as a top target for Tottenham Hotspur amid claims Bayern Munich have agreed a deal for Harry Kane.
That is according to 90Min, who claim that Tottenham have been sounding out potential striker signings for the final weeks of the window.
One of them is Lille forward Jonathan David, with Spurs representatives allegedly making contact over a potential deal.
Other names are in the mix for Tottenham, such as Gent star Gift Orban, Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic and Montpellier’s Elye Wahi.
David represents a very interesting option though having smashed 24 goals and four assists in 37 Ligue 1 games last season.
The 23-year-old has been called a ‘phenomenon’ by former coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck and has improved on his goal tally in each season with Lille.
David has big potential and is an international teammate of Alistair Johnston, who Ange Postecoglou brought to Celtic in January of this year.
If Postecoglou was keeping tabs on Johnston with the Canadian national team, it would have been hard to ignore David’s quality.

Jonathan David could help replace Harry Kane
David could emerge as a key target to replace Harry Kane in the Tottenham attack.
Spurs may like David anyway but Tottenham now appear to be preparing for life without hero Kane.
The Athletic report that Tottenham have now agreed to sell Kane to Bayern Munich after weeks of rumours.
Bayern have agreed a deal worth €100million (£86.5million) for Kane with the bid accepted on Wednesday.
It’s now over to Kane, who hasn’t yet decided whether he is going to make the move to Bavaria.
Kane is allegedly enjoying life under new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou and had been leaning towards staying.
This one doesn’t seem absolutely nailed on right now but Tottenham are wise to have targets in mind with David seemingly near the top of the list.
