Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici could raid old side Juventus for a third time in the space of two windows for midfielder Adrien Rabiot. A player, Hugo Lloris said in 2020 that he knew he always “had the potential”.

Rabiot, 27, is about to enter the last 12 months of his contract at Juventus – three years after Paratici lured him to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain. He remains a crucial part of Juve’s side, clocking up 40 outings this season.

But he is yet to recive a new deal with the Old Lady, CalcioMercato reporting that Juve would rather rid themselves of his enormous £112,000-a-week wages. Indeed, they state that an offer of £12.5million is enough.

Tottenham are not ruled out as a potential suitor for the France star, a player to play alongside Lloris for his country. After a win over Portugal in 2020, Lloris heaped praise on Rabiot in an interview with Maxifoot.

“Adri has always had the potential, nothing new,” Lloris said, after Rabiot’s display in the 1-0 win. “Since signing for Juventus, you can see a player who has matured. He performs very well. It’s nice to see him flourish.”

Lloris on Rabiot: Why Tottenham should avoid signing Juventus ace

Rabiot is a good player. But Antonio Conte prefers energy in the middle of the park, a midfielder that has incredible work rate and a defensive mindset. Rabiot has the latter, but his laidback style would not work.

Not only that, but Rabiot would struggle to get into the side ahead of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur. If he wants wages similar to the pay packet is he on at Juventus, then he would be an expensive squad player.
