Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are confident of signing Adama Traore ahead of Barcelona in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.
Tottenham to beat Barcelona to Adama Traore
ESPN have reported that Tottenham are in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers over signing Traore in a £20 million transfer this month.
Barcelona are also keen on their former player, but the Wolves winger is interested in a move to Tottenham and work with head coach Antonio Conte.
The report has added that Tottenham upbeat over their chances of signing Traore.
Conte reportedly plans to use winger Traore as a wing-back in his 3-4-3 system.
Exciting for Spurs fans
In our view, this latest report in ESPN is very exciting for Tottenham fans.
We know that Traore – described as “lethal” and “perfect” for Tottenham’s Conte by former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara on Sky Sports this month — can be frustrating with his end product.
However, as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola have noted before, Traore is simply an unplayable player on his day.

Traore is quick, strong and can dribble.
The former Aston Villa and Barcelona winger is also very powerful and is very frightening in one-v-ones.
In our opinion, as a wing-back, Traore would be a force to be reckoned with under Conte at Tottenham.
We think that Tottenham fans should be excited at the prospect of Traore moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
