The Tottenham youngster was called up to the Republic of Ireland squad and then weighed in with a brace for Spurs’ U23s against Man City’s U23s.
Tottenham Hotspur prodigy Troy Parrott has taken to Twitter following an eventful Friday in which he received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad and then scored a wonderful brace for Spurs’ Under-23s in a 3-1 win over their Manchester City counterparts.
The 17-year-old, who signed his first professional Tottenham deal on his birthday in February, is part of a 40-man provisional squad for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Switzerland on 5 September as well as the international friendly against Bulgaria five days later.
On Friday night, meanwhile, Parrott stole the show as he weighed in with two goals against the Citizens’ U23s, opening the scoring on 35 minutes as he turned on the edge of the box and curled a left-footed effort into the top corner of the net.
Paris Maghoma weighed in with an equally impressive effort on the stroke of half time before Parrott was given the chance to add a third from the penalty spot and duly smashed his spot-kick into the top-right corner, Harry Kane style.
There was, unfortunately, one setback at the end as Parrott found himself on the receiving end of a challenge from a Man City defender and he had to be taken off, holding his leg as he hobbled off – at the time of writing there has been no update on the knock but Football London‘s match feed suggested it could be a dead leg.

Parrott is regarded as one of Tottenham’s most highly rated young prospects, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 12 Under-18 matches last term.
