Fans may not be too familiar with the Lille ace, so here are five facts about Spurs’ latest transfer target ahead of the January transfer window…
1. Bissouma, 21, joined Lille from AS Real Bamako in 2016, and after just 11 appearances for Lille II, he has stepped up into first team reckoning quickly.
2. The midfielder has started seven league games this season, coming off the bench in four more, though he has yet to register a goal or an assist this term.

3. Tottenham are not the only team to have registered an interest in the talented midfielder, with Calcio Mercato reporting that Bissouma – who has earned praise for his athleticism and skill on the ball, much like Dembele – is also wanted by Inter Milan and Watford.
4. Despite being born in the Ivory Coast, Bissouma plays for Mali on the international stage, scoring three goals in 14 caps for his country.
5. Only a handful of Malians have played in the Premier League, and if Bissouma joins Spurs, he would be on the second Malian to play for Tottenham, following in Frederic Kanoute’s footsteps.
