According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur may not sign Joachim Andersen after all.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by The Sun that Tottenham are interested in Lyon central defender Joachim Andersen.
Andersen spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham from Lyon.
Although the Cottagers got relegated from the Premier League, the performances of the Denmark international were impressive.
The 25-year-old scored one goal and gave one assist in 31 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers.
Andersen knows about interest from Spurs, but the defender ‘may now find they will look elsewhere’, according to the report.
Lyon are looking for £26 million as transfer fee for Andersen.

Strange from Tottenham?
A transfer fee of £26 million for a 25-year-old central defender who is an international player is not really much.
Andersen did well in the Premier League last season, and he has the potential to get better.

What is baffling about this report is that Spurs have been tracking the Lyon defender for quite some time.
Eurosport reported in April 2021 that Tottenham have been tracking the defender for three years, and that the North London club ‘are now completely convinced of his attributes’.
So, why would Spurs decide to move away now?
