Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims Nicolo Zaniolo has agreed personal terms with Tottenham over a potential move to Spurs – though the two clubs are yet come to an agreement, despite Zaniolo being axed from Jose Mourinho’s side.
Zaniolo, 23, has been excellent for Roma ever since arriving at the club. Despite his injury issues, the 11-time Italy man has clocked up 42 goals and assists in 124 games for Roma. On Sunday, he was not in Roma’s squad against Spezia.
Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham have made a loan-to-buy offer for Zaniolo. The player is contracted until June 2024, but a new deal – which was believed to be forthcoming – is no longer on the table. Roma want a permanent transfer.
Galetti now delivers an update. He says Tottenham have a ‘verbal agreement with the player’. However, terms have not been met with Roma. Galetti claims Roma want a fee in the region of £35million, to £44million. Things are hotting up.

Galetti: Zaniolo agrees personal terms with Tottenham, fee not agreed
Tottenham have a week to make it work. There is plenty of frustration at Spurs right now, last time out – losing to bitter rivals Arsenal and then Manchester City. Their top-four hopes are dwindling. New signings would really lift the mood.
Not only for the fans, but for Antonio Conte, too. Reports have emerged over the weekend that Conte will be leaving Spurs at the end of the season. For some Spurs fans, they seem happy for him to go. Fed up of his negative tactics.
Spurs do need a player like Zaniolo. Of course, Son Heung-min and Deki Kulusevski play each side of Harry Kane when fit. But, that is a big if. Richarlison is good cover. Bryan Gil is a rookie. Lucas Moura is injured, and due to leave.
