Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool do not want to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window, but Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are “genuinely interested”, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs on Twitter.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester United all have been offered the chance to sign Trossard from Premier League rivals Brighton in the January transfer window.

Liverpool have made it clear that they have no interest in the 29-year-old, who is out of contract at Brighton at the end of the season, although the Seagulls do have the option to extend it by another year.

Spurs, though, want to sign the Belgium international winger, according to Jacobs.

Could a January transfer happen?

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.

Now, of course, Brighton are an established club in the Premier League and are also doing well at the moment.

So, the Seagulls are under no pressure to sell any of their players in the middle of the season.

However, Brighton might not be keen on keeping a player who does not want to stay.

If Trossard wants to leave and Spurs make a good offer, then we think that Brighton will sell him.
