Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba – but aren’t exactly confident of a deal.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Spurs are pressing ahed with their attempts to sign Moriba.
That’s despite teeing up a deal to sign another teenager midfielder in Metz talent Pape Matar Sarr, with Fabio Paratici looking towards the future.
Tottenham are though described as being ‘cautious’ about their chances of actually signing Moriba, given the major competition for his signature.
RB Leipzig, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid are named in the report. 90Min reported last week that Arsenal and Liverpool had also spoken to Moriba’s representatives.
Barcelona are also desperate to keep hold of Moriba and remain in talks to try and secure his future at the Camp Nou.

Moriba, 18, has been compared to Paul Pogba due to his style of play in midfield, and with just one year left on his contract, Barcelona are fearing losing him.
A £13million bid would allegedly see him leave Barcelona, and Tottenham are now making moves to look into a deal.
They seemingly aren’t overly confident of a deal, but let’s see what the next nine days bring; you just can’t rule out Paratici pulling off some magic.
