Italian outlet CMW claim that Tottenham are set to table an offer to sign Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni and include Emerson Royal in a move – and while it is likely to be rejected, a decision will be made in the next few days.
Bastoni, 23, has long been linked with a move to Tottenham and a reunion with Antonio Conte. The Spurs manager has often been touted with a move for the Italy defender. Now, it appears that Spurs are set to make a surprise offer.
Many had expected an offer for Bastoni would be made in the summer. But if the latest report is to be believed, is that Tottenham are about to table a bid. A bid that includes a cash sum, along with the inclusion of Spurs defender Royal.
The report states that Inter are more than likely to reject the incoming offer from Spurs. However, the report also says that if Spurs table an offer of just cash – that meets Inter’s asking price – they may be much more tempted to cash in.
Indeed, CMW say that ‘the next few days’ will inform all over whether Bastoni’s future is with Inter. Or, if Tottenham can tempt Inter into a sale. Bastoni only has 18 months remaining on his contract with Inter – and that could help Spurs.

So, with the deal likely to be rejected – Spurs will have to up their cash offer. But surely, with Ben Davies performing well and Clement Lenglet still at the club – is it pivotal Spurs move this month? Or, do they wait until the summer?
Wait another six months, when Bastoni will be in the final 12 months of his contract and therefore, cheaper. Spurs need Bastoni and if a deal can be done this month, then great. But it might save them a heap of cash to do it in the summer.
