Tottenham will reportedly chase Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi throughout the January transfer window despite recent claims that West Ham have made a bid for the 29-year-old.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the north London side are willing to play the long game to secure Malinovskyi’s services this month, though as reported by CalcioMercato, a bid has been made by West Ham for the Serie A midfielder since the opening of the January market.

With Olympique Marseille also interested in signing Malinovskyi, the battle for the Atalanta maestro is once again heating up, with Tottenham seemingly making a plan of action as to how they can sign the midfielder with West Ham already having a bid submitted for the Ukrainian.

Despite spending most of the season on the bench, Malinovskyi is widely considered one of the best midfielders in Serie A, with the former KRC Genk star entering the peak of his career as Atalanta are now looking to offload the 29-year-old in January.

Indeed, Tottenham were heavily linked with Malinovskyi last summer. However, the north London side were unable tor each an agreement with Atalanta for the midfielder, with Spurs set to try their luck again this January with a new and improved strategy.

Supporters will be hoping that new signings are on the way this month, and Tottenham beating the likes of West Hame to Malinovskyi would be a great sign of intent from Antonio Conte, who more than deserves backing in the window this month from the Spurs board.

Malinovskyi’s future looks set to be decided this month, with the Atalanta star seemingly ready to leave Bergamo to sign for a club where his talents will be fully appreciated. And whilst West Ham have made a bid, there’s every chance that Tottenham could still win the race for the midfielder.

After all, Conte has been chasing Malinovskyi for quite some time. And if Tottenham can match West Ham’s bid at a minimum, there’s a strong possibility that the Ukrainian will opt to sign for the north London side instead of David Moyes’ team.
