Italian outlet Inter Live report that Tottenham Hotspur have set an asking price for Emerson Royal of £21.5million – with the Brazil player’s time at Spurs under serious threat as Antonio Conte looks to bring in a right wing-back this month.
Royal, 23, has endured a really difficult time at Spurs. Joining the club from Barcelona in the summer of 2021 under Nuno Espirito Santo, he has gone on to play 62 times for Tottenham. But fans are beginning to grow fed up of Royal.
He has not been good enough, especially for a side that are looking to break their way into the Champions League places. Matt Doherty started in Tottenham’s last Premier League outing, scoring in a 4-0 away win over Crystal Palace.
Now, it is reported that Spurs have set an asking price for Royal. The club are being linked with a move to sign Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon – a player they faced twice in the Champions League. That pushes Royal down the rankings.

Tottenham set asking price for Emerson Royal of £21.5million
The report states that Spurs want £21.5million for the ex-Barcelona man. Such a fee, that would prevent Spurs from making a loss on him. Whether or not Spurs get such a fee for Royal remains to be seen, in the coming weeks.
But the fact Spurs are willing to sell him on for the same fee they bought him for 18 months ago, shows how poor Royal has been. When a Premier League player signs a talent for a fee north of £20million, that fee should grow.
For Royal, it has not. His own club are willing to sell him without bringing in a profit. That is big tell that Royal has not been able to shine at Spurs. If Spurs sign Porro, Royal will want to go. But to get that fee, seems unlikely.
