Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, according to Bild.

Tottenham Hotspur linked with Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt

The German publication has claimed that Tottenham want to bring the Germany international attacking player to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium “at all costs”, as translated by BuliNews.

This is not the first time that Spurs have been linked with Brandt.

Tottenham were reportedly keen on the Germany international before he joined Dortmund from Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2019 for £22.1 million (The Guardian).

In May 2019, Sky Sports reported that Tottenham wanted to sign Brandt.

Mauricio Pochettino was then in charge of the North London club.

However, the attacker decided to move to Dortmund instead and snubbed the chance to work with Pochettino at Spurs.

And now Tottenham are back in for the 26-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder, on the wing or in a deeper role in midfield.

Unlikely Spurs transfer

In our view, it is unlikely that Julian Brandt will join Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

Dortmund could win the Bundesliga title this season, and they also regularly compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Spurs do not tend to compete for the Premier League title, and there is never a guarantee for them that they will always finish in the UEFA Champions League places.
