Fabrizio Romano has reported that the “saga” is “finally over” for Tottenham as Pedro Porro has put pen to paper on a deal until June 2028 – to complete a month-long move of negotiations to get the Spain star at the London club.
Porro, 23, has finally completed a move to Spurs. It comes after plenty of negotiations this month. Then, this week, the deal was thought to be off. Sporting moved the goal posts. But Spurs have responded, and got a deal done.
It is believed that Porro will initially join Spurs on loan until the end of the season for a fee in the region of £5million. An obligatory clause is included in the deal, taking the overall fee for Porro to the £39million expected to sign him.
Romano has now delivered the news that all Tottenham fans will have been hoping for. The “saga is finally” at an end. Spurs have their man. In the last few moments, he has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2028.
Romano: Porro saga finally over for Tottenham, deal until June 2028
What a signing this is for Spurs. Coming into the window, Spurs fans will have told you that their biggest weakness in the starting XI was at right wing-back. They have solved that issue by bringing in the ex-Manchester City ace.
Porro has been in stunning form for Sporting this season. He has been at Sporting for the last two and a half years, but only signed last summer from City. He starred against Spurs in the Champions League groups, home and away.
But with Matt Doherty about to join Atletico Madrid and Djed Spence completing a loan move to Rennes, Spurs have signed Porro. Confirmation is yet to arrive but with less than three hours left in the window, Spurs will sign Porro.
