Italian outlet CMW claim Chelsea could hand Tottenham a transfer boost in pursuit of Nicolo Zaniolo with Jose Mourinho identifying Hakim Ziyech as the Italy attacker’s replacement at Roma – with Spurs very keen on Zaniolo.
Zaniolo, 23, has returned from a shoulder injury to play a part in Mourinho’s side this season. But the Italy attacker has not been at his best this season, after a summer saga in which he was strongly linked with a move to Tottenham.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti says Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Zaniolo. However, Spurs are yet to agree a fee with Roma, or a type of deal. It is believed Roma rate Zaniolo at a fee between £44million and £53million.
It is believed Spurs want a loan deal with an option, while Roma want a definite sale. Whether that is a permanent sale this month, or a loan with an obligation. Now, CMW say Chelsea could hand Spurs a big boost in pursuit of Zaniolo.

That is because Roma have identified Ziyech as a replacement for Zaniolo. Chelsea have brought in Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk this month, pushing £38m Ziyech down the pecking order. A move is realistic. It would help Spurs.
Chelsea could hand Tottenham boost in Zaniolo pursuit with Ziyech
All of it seems realistic. Spurs have always wanted Zaniolo and need another body in the final third. Especially, a player like Zaniolo – a player that can play up top, out wide on either flank, or as a 10. The ideal cover for Spurs’ best players.
Roma are keen to sell and left him out of the side that faced Spezia on Sunday, Tammy Abraham scoring. Chelsea will need to clear the decks this month after so many incoming signings under Todd Boehly – and Ziyech is likely to be one.
