Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from the Bees amid rumours that Tottenham are interested in signing the Spanish international.
According to journalist Alvaro de Grado, the 27-year-old shot-stopper has turned down an approach from Brentford to extend his contract with the club, with Tottenham one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing the Barcelona-born keeper.
Given that Raya’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024, interest is mounting for the Brentford star as Tottenham already face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for the Catalan’s signature. However, as reported by the Times, Spurs are ready to move for the Brentford man this January.
With Hugo Lloris’ time with Tottenham set to come to an end next season, signing a replacement now would be a wise move from Antonio Conte’s side, with Raya an ideal candidate to replace the former French captain and FIFA World Cup winner.
And with Raya now rejecting a new contract offer from Brentford, there’s a growing chance that the Spanish international could depart west London this January, with Tottenham the perfect next step for the Premier League regular, who has shown he is ready for a move to a top English side.

Raya has been one of Brentford’s most consistent performers since their promotion to the Premier League in 2021, yet with the keeper rejecting a new deal from the Bees, an exit feels very likely for the former Blackburn Rovers star, where Tottenham should be all over the 27-year-old.
