According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has rejected the chance to cut short Pau Lopez’s loan deal, despite interest from La Liga sides.
The 21-year-old has gone from first choice at Espanyol to third-choice at White Hart Lane, having to make do with a few under-23 outings.
That has led to speculation surrounding his future but Sport reports that Pochettino is a big fan of the player and wants to aid his development in North London.
As there is a permanent £6million buy-out option at the end of the season, it seems that Tottenham are keen to keep him and activate it in due course, perhaps if and when Michel Vorm leaves in pursuit regular first-team football.
In other news, Bild reports that Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach are keen on signing Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer.
The Austria international has struggled for game time this season, appearing just five times in all competitions. However it remains to be seen if Tottenham would be willing to part with him midway through the campaign given their previous injury problems at the back.
And finally, Calcio Mercato reports that Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic.
The 18-year-old is predominantly a right winger with two goals and six assists so far this season.
