AS Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo has told Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur that he is ready to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window, according to SportMediaSet.

Nicolo Zaniolo open to Tottenham Hotspur transfer

The Italian news outlet has claimed that Tottenham want to sign Zaniolo from AS Roma in January.

And the 23-year-old has said ‘yes’ to the prospect of a move to Spurs and working under former Inter Milan and Juventus manager Antonio Conte at the Premier League club.

However, Tottenham and Roma cannot reach an agreement over a deal, according to the report.

Stumbling block

Spurs are in contact with the Italian club over a possible deal for Zaniolo, described as “extraordinary” by AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho on the club’s YouTube channel in August 2022.

According to SportMediaSet, Tottenham want to sign the 23-year-old on a loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent at €20 million (£17.56 million) if certain set conditions are achieved, including qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.

While Roma are willing to do a loan deal for Zaniolo with an obligation to buy, they want easily achievable conditions and are looking to get around €35-40 million (£30.53-£35.12 million) in transfer fees.

So, it seems that for Tottenham to complete a deal for Zaniolo, they have to increase their offer and also amend the conditions.
