According to a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the club’s interested in signing Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout and are even prepared to make an offer in the region of £10.6million for the 22-year-old.
Veretout is a defensive midfielder who has spent his entire career at Nantes, playing 142 matches in the process.
In that time he has scored 15 goals and provided 23 assists and if Tottenham’s interest is valid it is yet another example of the club focusing on young players they can develop at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham definitely need midfield reinforcements after waving goodbye to a number of fringe players this summer, but it remains to be seen if Veretout is the answer; although the report claims Nantes will find it hard to refuse such a sizeable offer.
