Italian site GDS claim Inter Milan are struggling to meet the demands of Alessandro Bastoni in order to agree a new deal – with the star asking for £95,000 a week, amid Tottenham and Manchester United interest ahead of the summer.
The 23-year-old defender has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs in the last couple of transfer windows. But he has remained loyal to Inter – where he broke into the side on a regular basis during Antonio Conte’s time in charge.
But this summer, his contract is due to enter the final 12 months. The report states that if Inter cannot agree a new deal with the Italy defender beforehand, then they will have to consider cashing in. Bastoni wants a deal worth £95k a week.
That deal is a net salary, including add-ons. But, Inter are unwilling to go past £77k a week. So, there is a difference, but surely, close enough to compromise. Tottenham and Manchester United are keen, and are likely to be keeping tabs.

Spurs have solved their right wing-back issues in January. Come the summer, their priorities are likely to be a centre-back and a goalkeeper. Conte has long wanted a left-footed centre-back to compete with Ben Davies in the three.
But Eric Dier’s drop in form in recent months may convince Spurs to look at another option in the middle. Clement Lenglet is on a dry loan and has done little to show Spurs why he deserves to be given a permanent deal at Spurs.
Between the sticks, Hugo Lloris finds himself out of contract in June 2024. It is widely expected that this is Lloris’ last season as Spurs’ no.1 – especially, after a number of mistakes. Bastoni certainly solves the left-footed defender option.
