A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur…

A report from Corriere Dello Sport claims AS Roma have Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio on standby if they fail in a bid to sign Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho this summer.
It had earlier been suggested by TMW that the Argentine had agreed a loan deal to Italy and that it was Spurs dragging their heels as they assessed Jan Vertonghen’s injury. But now there are conflicting reports from Italy.

According to the Sun, Tottenham are considering a £20million move for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
The recently capped England international played a major role in the Foxes’ Premier League title triumph and it is being claimed Spurs are keen to take any advantage of slow contract negotiations between the player and his current employers.
That said given the midfielders already at Tottenham’s disposal a move for Drinkwater makes little sense at this time.

In other news, the Mirror claims imminent Tottenham signing Georges-Kevin N’Koudou insisted on a move to White Hart Lane this summer, with Marseille previously planning to sell him on the cheap elsewhere.
The winger is expected to become Tottenham’s third summer signing in due course and the report states that Marseille had planned to sell him for less than the £11million Spurs are willing to pay before the London club made their move.
And finally, Tottenham have confirmed that young midfielder Grant Ward has signed for Ipswich Town following a successful loan spell at Rotherham United last season.
The 21-year-old has now agreed a permanent move to the Championship after failing to make the breakthrough at White Hart Lane.
