Ivan Perisic could reportedly leave Tottenham this summer just one year after signing for the north London club in one of Antonio Conte’s first big moves as manager.
According to Inter Live, the Croatian international is eyeing a return to Inter Milan and could force an exit from Tottenham to make the move possible, with Perisic keen to end his stay in London one year early having signed a two-year contract with Tottenham last summer.
As per the report, Perisic could be involved in a swap deal with Stefan de Vrij should Tottenham look to find a more conventional way of offloading the Croatian winger, whilst the avenue of a mutual termination of the 34-year-old’s contract is also being explored.
Should Perisic leave Tottenham this summer, it will be the latest in a long line of transfer embarrassments for the north London club, who are seemingly still struggling to find any consistency in their recruitment despite a number of successful moves in the Conte era.

Indeed, Perisic felt like a home run of a signing based on how well the winger has historically worked in Conte’s system during their time together at Inter. However, with the Italian now gone, the Croatian star could now follow suit with a move back to Inter.
Whilst Perisic has impressed in patches for Tottenham this season, a return back to Italy could be for the best, with Spurs clearly in need of a mass squad overhaul under a new long-term manager who knows what he is doing at the helm of the north London side.
Perisic leaving Tottenham could be a blessing in disguise

Perisic was always going to be a short-term signing for Tottenham, with the wing-back in the twilight of his career and approaching the final year of his peak, and as one of Spurs’ highest-paid players, the Croatian leaving this summer could be the best for all parties.
Moreover, with Destiny Udogie set to return from loan after an incredible year with Udinese, Tottenham already have a replacement readymade to take over from Perisic, who seems intent on returning back to Inter after one year away from the San Siro.
