Clement Lenglet has set his stance on joining Tottenham Hotspur from Barcelona in a permanent transfer. The centre-half moved to Spurs on loan without an option to buy.
That is according to Calciomercato, which reports that Lenglet wants to continue his career in England. The 27-year-old has enjoyed his time in the Premier League and now wishes to remain in the country. Tottenham chiefs are also inclined to target his permanent transfer.
Spurs are already putting plans in place to strengthen in the summer sales, despite sacking Antonio Conte. The north London team relieved the Italian of his duties after 17 months in charge this week. Managing director Fabio Paratici has also now taken a leave of absence.

Tottenham are already exploring Lenglet’s permanent transfer from Barcelona
Tottenham’s managerial vacancy and Paratici’s uncertain future have not stopped the club from considering Lenglet’s permanent transfer. The Frenchman has played a valuable role during his time at the club so far. He has featured in 27 of their fixtures in all competitions.
Reports by Sport also cite Tottenham as having an interest in Lenglet’s permanent transfer from Barcelona. The Spanish publication notes that Spurs appreciate the value he can add with a suitable fee. Talks are also underway between the teams over a €14m (£12.5m) deal.

Lenglet has impressed Spurs on and off the pitch during his temporary stay
Tottenham signed Lenglet in a dry loan transfer from Barcelona at Conte’s request, Sport adds. The clubs agreed to not include an option to buy owing to the Blaugrana adjusting his salary to leave. But Spurs appreciate what the 15-cap international has since offered them.
Lenglet has impressed Tottenham on and off the pitch with his personal and professional qualities during his loan transfer. While Barcelona are not against selling the centre-back, either, come the summer. The Camp Nou natives desperately need to raise a lot of funds.
So, Lenglet now setting his stance on staying in England will boost Tottenham’s hopes of his permanent transfer from Barcelona. A fee in the region of €14m (£12.5m) might also prove great value for money. Top-tier, left-footed centre-halves can be hard to discover.
