Football London Alasdair Gold has told his YouTube channel that Chelsea teenager Jude Soonsup-Bell is to undergo a Spurs medical on Monday and could do so alongside Pedro Porro – ahead of a free transfer to the North London club.

Soonsup-Bell, 19, has starred in Chelsea’s academy sides over the last few years. Scoring 23 goals in 25 games for the Blues Under-18 side, and becoming a regular in the 23’s. He was even handed his first-team debut by Thomas Tuchel.

The striker is deemed a real talent at Chelsea and the Blues wanted to keep him. But they failed to extend his contract, which expires in the summer. Soonsup-Bell has attracted interest from Spurs, Manchester City and foreign clubs.

That is according to Gold, who says Manchester City had tabled an offer – while foreign sides are yet to come to the negotiating table. Spurs are set to win the race, and Soonsup-Bell is due to undergo a medical at Spurs on Monday.

“He has a medical tomorrow. He’s seen as quite a talent, Chelsea wanted him to sign a deal. Man City made him an offer, from what I understand. So have a few teams abroad. Spurs are going to get him in. A free, but a sell-on fee.”

It is a real coup for Spurs. For Antonio Conte’s side to get a deal done ahead of the Premier League champions is a real signal of intent. Soonsup-Bell is a proper talent. While he will do well to get into the side, he certainly has a chance.

Indeed, Spurs obviously have Harry Kane – but they lack direct cover. Troy Parrott has talent, but has struggled to turn potential into proven quality, at least at club level. Dane Scarlett is a talent, but he has just five goals in 29 appearances.
