A round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur…
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll could be on his way back to loan club Swansea City, this time in a permanent deal.
The midfielder was once tipped for big things at White Hart Lane. However the signing of Victor Wanyama and the emergence of Harry Winks has seen Carroll slip well down the pecking order.
This season he has featured only three times in all competitions, appearing for just a single minute in the Premier League, way back in August against Crystal Palace.

At 24, Carroll is at a stage of his career where he needs to play regularly and a return to the Liberty Stadium – with the Swans allegedly prepared to pay £8million – could be best for all concerned.
In other news, the Independent claims Tottenham remain interested in River Plate striker Lucas Alario, along with his teammate Sebastian Driussi.
The 24-year-old Alario has scored six goals in 13 matches this season while he has netted 24 in 51 during his time at River Plate.
With that kind of form it is no surprise Tottenham are keen. However the Independent goes on to claim that his current club do not think he will ever move to England due to the complexities in his third-party ownership.
Things will have to change if Alario ever wants to move to the Premier League due to their ruling on that complicated scenario.
As for Driussi, Tottenham are ready to open talks regarding a potential move but it remains to be seen if they will seal a deal for the sough after youngster.

And finally, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims it is impossible for Tottenham to sign Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan this month despite a Mirror report to the contrary.
It was reported earlier this week that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wanted to bring his countryman to North London until the end of the season.
However with Atletico unable to sign anyone in the current window they will be keeping all their first-team stars for the challenges ahead.
In truth that is no surprise, because Gaitan to Tottenham makes little sense at this stage of his career.
