AC Milan are reportedly in talks to sign Universidad de Chile wonderkid Dario Osorio, who Tottenham have recently been linked with in the final days of the January transfer window.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the European giants are in talks with the 19-year-old winger over a potential deal, with Milan looking to sign Osorio in a transfer worth €5m (£4.3m) that could be one of the biggest coups of the winter market so far.
As per the report, Tottenham are also interested in Osorio alongside Premier League rivals Aston Villa. However, despite an approach from Antonio Conte’s side for the winger, it is Milan who are now in the driving seat to sign the Chilean international.
With Tottenham’s deal for Pedro Porro collapsing this Monday as reported by the Athletic, missing out on another target in Osorio will come as another huge blow for the north London side, with the attacker regarded by many as one of the best prospects in South America.

Indeed, Milan signing Osorio will sting even more for Tottenham given that the two clubs will soon meet in the UEFA Champions League, where if the Rossoneri can move quickly enough, the teenage forward could be in contention to face off against Spurs.
Whilst Tottenham have signed a winger this month in Arnaut Danjuma, Osorio would be a more long-term solution for Spurs’ attacking ranks given his age and exciting potential. Yet with Milan in talks, it now feels likely that the north London side will miss out on yet another target.
Osorio would be wise to sign for Milan over Tottenham

The leap from South America to the Premier League is one of the hardest in all of football, with only a handful of players ever making the change swiftly enough in their first few months in England. And because of this, Osorio would be wise to sign for Milan despite interest from Tottenham.
After all, Milan’s track record at developing players has been nothing short of incredible, and with Osorio a talent who could go all the way to the top, the winger would be better off heading to Italy than signing for Tottenham, where the winger could get lost in the system.
