A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur…

According to a report from France Football, Tottenham Hotspur have made an €8million bid for Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder.

That equates to around £6.1million and while it is being claimed the offer was rejected by the Ligue 1 club, the report suggests Toulouse are looking for just €10million (£7.6million). So if Tottenham really are that keen on the 25-year-old it would not take much more to push a deal over the line.

Ben Yedder is a centre-forward who can also operate as a secondary striker if required and with 13 goals in 22 matches this season he certainly represents an exciting option for Spurs.

The former France under-21 international has a total of 61 goals in 155 matches for Toulouse and with a contract that expires in the summer of 2017 this is one rumour that may have legs.

In other news, the Chronicle reports that Tottenham winger Andros Townsend wants a move to Newcastle United, but that sources close to Spurs say a deal is being held up by Daniel Levy’s refusal to budge on his £14million valuation.

The 24-year-old has been consigned to Tottenham’s reserves in recent weeks and the latest report suggests the fee is an unrealistic asking price for the England international.
