Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie now reportedly wants to sign for Borussia Dortmund despite rumours that the USA international was waiting for an offer from Tottenham.
According to Tuttosport, the 24-year-old star has his heart set on a return to Germany, with Dortmund the leading Bundesliga side to sign McKennie in January as Juventus plan to sell the American dynamo this month, with Tottenham also interested.
As per the report, Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth are also interested in signing McKennie. However, the Juventus man has seemingly made his mind about that he wants a return to Germany with Dortmund, even with the Black and Yellow being the archrivals of the midfielder’s former club, Schalke 04.
The news will come as a blow for Tottenham, who according to Corriere della Sera was McKennie’s first choice, with the midfielder even said to be waiting for a £25m transfer offer from the north London club. However, there now seems to be a change.

Indeed, McKennie would have be an ideal fit for Tottenham given how much dynamism Spurs are lacking in the midfield. However, it now looks like the north London club have stalled too long in their pursuit for the American superstar, which could allow Dortmund to win the race.
Whilst an offer is yet to be made for the 24-year-old, McKennie’s change in attitude could easily hint that the Juventus star wants a move as quickly as possible, something Dortmund could do in the coming days to beat Tottenham to signing the American.
Dortmund signing McKennie would be a blow to Tottenham

McKennie has been linked with a move to Tottenham for what feels like forever, which is why the midfielder signing for Dortmund would come as a shocking surprise to many at the north London club given how heavily the American has been tipped to move to England.
With Antonio Conte seemingly a big fan of the midfielder, missing out on McKennie will do little to improve the situation at Tottenham in the weeks to come, with this January window arguably the point of the season that could define what happens for the north London side.
