According to The Sun, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a bid for Bayer Leverkusen central defender Piero Hincapie, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal also want to sign in the January transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur plan bid for Arsenal target Piero Hincapie
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Conte wants a left-sided centre-back at Tottenham, and that Hincapie is one of the players the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss is looking at.
Spurs are reportedly considering making a £20 million bid for the 21-year-old central defender in the January transfer window.
Tottenham could complete a deal now and then let him stay on loan at German club Bayer until the end of the season.
The report has added that Bundesliga outfit Bayer are open to selling Hincapie in the January transfer window.

Impact on the Gunners?
Tottenham’s willingness to bid for Hincapie now could be a blow for Arsenal.
That’s because the Gunners have also been linked with the talented and promising young 21-year-old.
CM reported in December 2022 that Arsenal are among the clubs keen on the Ecuador international.
Arsenal do not actually need to sign a new centre-back right now.
William Saliba and Gabriel are doing well at the back, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also has the option of playing Ben White there.
However, Arsenal need to keep an eye on the future, and a player of Hincapie’s calibre would be a long-term investment.
