Tottenham can win next season’s Premier League title, according to Moussa Sissoko. The midfielder, who has just left England for the first time in almost a decade, responded to a question from a fan during a Q&A session on Instagram.
Spurs finished in a solid fourth after Antonio Conte took over the reigns from Nuno Espirito Santo towards Christmas in 2021. A remarkable achievement, given Spurs looked as though any European qualification would be a success.
But Conte has galvanised Spurs. The players look fitter, the system is better suited and the work in the transfer window has been excellent. Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have been wonderful additions during Conte’s reign.

Sissoko, 32, left Spurs last summer during Nuno’s brief reign – joining Watford. Following relegation with the Hornets, he has returned to France – nine and a half years after joining Newcastle in 2013. He will be in the Europa League.
They have since brought in Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Clement Lenglet. Asked if Spurs can challenge and win the Premier League title next season, Sissoko is confident they can.
Sissoko: Tottenham can win Premier League title
Really? Can Tottenham really break their way past Liverpool and Manchester City? Probably not. But progression for Spurs would be reducing the 22-point gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.
If Spurs can reduce that gap to 10 points or under, it would be a wonderful season. Finishing third, too, above Chelsea, would be a real statement of intent. A good run in the Champions League and a domestic trophy, perhaps.
