Don Hutchison has stated that Yves Bissouma is a ‘fantastic signing’ for Tottenham following his £25 million move from Brighton, as he told US-based TV ESPN.

The TV pundit added that ‘enough managers have watched him progress over the years’ and Spurs have got a player that is at a ‘great age’.

The 25-year-old had one-year left on his deal at Brighton, with Fabio Paratici working his magic and paying £25 million for his talents.

Given that last summer, Ben White, who had only played one full season in the Premier League, moved for £50 million from Brighton to Arsenal, then it just goes to show what type of deal Paratici has been able to get over the line.

Either way, this is what Hutchison told US TV about Antonio Conte’s side adding a top talent in Bissouma to their ranks ahead of next season.

“I think enough managers have watched him progress over the years,” said Hutchison. “It’s a great age at 25. A good physique as well. He’s at a good height. A good range of movement as well. He covers the ground very easy.

“So, for the fee, it’s a fantastic signing for Spurs.”

DOES BISSOUMA START FROM THE GET-GO?

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur are the guys that Bissouma will be battling with next season for first-team spots in Conte’s XI.

Whilst Bentancur probably looked the most impressive last season, at the end of the day, Hojbjerg is the more proven performer in the Premier League.

But, with Bissouma now in the building, he could argue that he pushes ahead of both players next season and straight into Conte’s XI.

Either way, one thing is for sure, Spurs now have some serious depth when it comes to defensive-midfield because Oliver Skipp is also another crucial member of that side.
