Christian Eriksen is a wanted man this summer, with Brentford, Tottenham, Manchester United and Everton all gunning for his signature.

Danish journalist, Carsten Werge, who has known Eriksen for many years, made it clear that joining Tottenham is a possibility, but he can’t see him joining Manchester United or Everton, as he told Sky Sports News.

Of course, as things stand, he is still a Brentford player, with his short-term contract, which he signed in January, due to expire in June.

Could the 30-year-old snub all of those big clubs and put pen-to-paper on a bigger contract with Thomas Frank at Brentford? Well, the Bees will have a fight on their hands because Spurs, Everton and Man United are all keen on the quick-thinking playmaker.

Well, Werge, who is also Editor of TV2 in Denmark, shared that those in his country probably expect him to sign for the Bees this summer, rather than move towards more lucrative offers.

“In Denmark, we wouldn’t be surprised if Christian chose to stay in Brentford,” said Werge “He’s been very good there. He looks very happy in this club and the coach, Thomas Frank, who is a very good friend.

“Even though the money could be bigger if he goes to one of the other clubs, this isn’t a question about money, but where Christian and his family feels comfortable. I imagine it could easily be Brentford.

On Everton, Man United and Spurs links: “That’s true (only one of them in the Champions League). For sure now, I don’t think he will ever go to Everton or Manchester United because they aren’t in a good position.

“It seems as though he enjoys life in London. If he should choose between Tottenham and Brentford, then it could be Tottenham because he knows the facilities.

“But I don’t think the Champions League is the main point. It’s about enjoying playing football now after what happened.”

ERIKSEN A NO-BRAINER FOR MOST TEAMS IN EUROPE

Given that there is no transfer fee attached to Eriksen’s name, then that surely makes him more attractive in the football transfer market.

All of the above teams mentioned would see their XI’s elevated with the arrival of Eriksen.

The Serie A title winner proved that at Brentford this season because, from the ten Premier League games he started, his side only lost two, which showed the significant impact he had on the team.

That’s why Brentford will be pretty keen to keep him on board, but it will be interesting if Man United come knocking with their new manager, Erik ten Hag, now in charge or his former side, Tottenham, come calling again.
